The “Fat-Burning Machine” Ketogenic Diet

You’re probably landed here because you are looking for some tips or a diet to help you in your weight loss journey. Sometimes it can be tough, sometimes it can be easy but it is different for every SINGLE person. But one popular diet that you may hear a lot is the ketogenic diet. This has probably been one of the most popular diets I’ve heard throughout my friends and family on social media. And I have seen many great results as long as you stick to a great regimen and make sure to get physical exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Here is some more information on the ketogenic diet:

The Ketogenic diet also known as “Keto” diet is a low-carb diet which helps the body turn into a “fat-burning machine”. The body produces small molecules called “ketone” and this is an alternative fuel for the body, when used when glucose or is in short supply. These ketones are produced when you eat very few carbs and only a certain amount of protein because excess protein may and can also be converted to blood sugar.

In a Ketogenic diet, your body switches its fuel supply to run almost entirely off of your fat. Thus making your body a “fat-burning machine” and also other benefits such as having a great supply of energy and may also help keep you more focused and alert.

The following people should NOT start or use a ketogenic diet:

  • Breastfeeding women
  • If you take medication for diabetes, etc.
  • If you take some medication for high blood pressure

If your body is having trouble with your new diet, you should consult a dietitian.



Foods & Drinks to Eat:

  • Natural Fats (such as butter, olive oil, etc.)
  • Vegetables that grow ABOVE the ground
  • Meat
  • Fish and Seafood
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Water, Coffee, Tea

Foods to Try to Avoid:

  • Juice or Soda
  • Candy, Chocolate Bars, etc.
  • Bread
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Potatoes
  • Beer
